Exposure to Dodecamethylcyclohexasiloxane (D6) Affects the Antioxidant Response and Gene Expression of Procambarus clarkii

Dodecamethylcyclohexasiloxane (D6) is widely used daily in the chemical industry and exists environment; however, its eco-toxicity not well documented. A hydroponic experiment was performed to investigate effects of D6 exposure (10–1000 mg L−1) on oxidative stress induction gene expression changes crayfish (Procambarus clarkii). The results showed that superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity enhanced by 20–32% at low (10 muscle but reduced gill tissue high (1000 L−1). High also increased catalase (CAT) peroxidase (POD) activities 14–37% 14–45%, respectively, same trend observed carapace crayfish. Malondialdehyde (MDA), ascorbate (AsA), glutathione (GSH) contents were 16–31%, 19–31%, 21–28% under exposure. Additionally, silicon (Si) content three organs (gill, carapace, muscle) Related genes involved enzyme nonenzyme detected, when exposed D6, such as Sod3, Cat3, Pod3, Gsh3 up-regulated, while Asa3 Oxido3 significantly down-regulated muscle. research help us understand toxicity provide a basis for further mechanism D6-induced other aquatic organisms.
